Even though the photos displayed on the listing showed how pretty this necklace is, it still looks even prettier in person. In my opinion, the shade of gold is perfect (I assume 18k). It’s not too yellow like 24k can be but it stands out in a good way when you wear it. If you like paler gold plating (like 14k) you might find the color too rich. Still, it’s not at all (too) orange/yellow. Just to show you what too yellow actually looks like, I posted a pic of a 24k plated chain (that IMO is too orange/yellow) and laid this necklace next to it. That should give you a better idea. The pendant is very shiny but not in a cheap way. It has some weight to it indicating it’s fine quality but I don’t mean it’s heavy. It’s of fine quality and looks like it could sell in a boutique shop for like $40. It’s now one of my staple pieces! Take care of this! Don’t get it wet, sleep in it or wear it 24/7. You can’t do that with jewelry like this. It’ll turn. Buy solid or gold plated stainless steel.
